Synopsis:
A magical realist piece set in Panama, exploring one woman’s journey through addiction and self-discovery.
Caught between the crippling pains of detox and a magical realist fantasy, photo-journalist Louisa is waylaid on a remote island in Panama during Carnival while following a story she hopes will save her career. She is cared for by a pack of little girls and regularly visited by mystical apparitions. Is it alcohol-induced hallucination or divine intervention? Louisa desperately wants to know if she is in real danger or entangled in dreams.
